New Year, New Beginnings! Lynx Rehabilitation and Reintroduction

17 Jan, 2022

Every year, in Russia, many weakened adult lynx who come into contact with humans, need physical and behavioural rehabilitation, in order to return to their wild habitat.  On top of this more dozens of lynx cubs are found orphaned every year unable to survive in the wild on their own.

ABCR lynx is a new Lynx Rehabilitation Centre and is the only place to rehabilitate lynx in Russia. It was started by a family of enthusiastic scientists with experience in rehabilitating big cats. So far they managed to rehabilitate and release 4 lynx, but are lacking the space to take in more cats. This is why Forgotten Animals helped ABCR Lynx purchase 1 hectare of land to build enclosures that will allow them to rehabilitate 5-7 more lynx per year.
